Flo Trend’s innovative container filters are an ideal choice for many different kinds of dewatering projects. Large jobs require different tools, however. When organizations or municipalities need to process more than 4 million gallons per day, a belt filter press becomes necessary. Belt filter presses are less cost-efficient than non-mechanical dewatering methods, such as Flo Trend’s dewatering container filters and dewatering boxes, but they’re able to handle much higher volumes in much less time.

A belt filter press is a dewatering machine that applies mechanical pressure to a chemically conditioned slurry, which is squeezed between two tensioned belts passed through a serpentine of decreasing diameter rolls. Typically, a belt filter press will receive a slurry ranging from 1–4 percent feed solids and produces a final product of 12–35 percent cake solids. Their speed and efficiency of performance depends largely on the nature of the solids being processed.

Because Flo Trend strives to be a one-stop shop for all dewatering needs, our company recognizes that many customers rely upon belt filter presses for routine solids/liquids separation. However, unlike container filters, belt presses typically need significant refurbishment after 10–15 years of service in order to continue operating at top performance.

For this reason, Flo Trend offers our customers affordable belt press refurbishment services in addition to our many other wastewater treatment products and services. Our skilled technicians can refurbish belt press makes and models from all the top manufacturers, including Ashbrook, Andritz, and Parkson.

Whether your organization’s belt filter press is ready for refurbishment or ready to be replaced by a newer, more effective dewatering solution, Flo Trend can help. Call us today for pricing and availability of belt filter press refurb services, or ask about our custom container filters, which may better suit your water treatment needs. Dewatering is already a costly annual expense for most plants.
